“Resistance is another bold campaign from Tattoo which liberates the subscribers from limitations, uniformity and mediocrity. Tattoo does this by empowering them with faster speeds, bolder and more powerful devices and more affordable plans that subscribers could customize their way,” explains Dong Ronquillo, Tattoo Head of Nomadic Broadband.

In the Tattoo “Resistance” party without limits, Cebu’s crème de la crème of society were treated to an evening of non-stop music, courtesy of the country’s top DJs, pumping up the Sinulog party scene with mixes that kept everyone on the groove. Manila’s must-be-seen places, Opus and Republiq were transported to Cebu’s most happening places. DJs Bombi Balquierda, Manolet Dario, took turns in spinning the party music, with Boyet Ilustrisimo, Jan Areno, and DJ War Aballe in Loft. Funk Avy, Nina, and X Factor brought the house down in Penthouse on first night and continued on to Ayala Terraces the next.

Tattoo rules in Cebu and we want to bring to them the ultimate Tattoo experience of living without limits. Cebu is one of the perfect cities to start, spreading the word further in resisting uniformity, mediocrity and limitations,” Ronquillo adds.

Tattoo, known for trailblazing changes in the broadband industry, calls for Resistance against the mediocre offers of other telecommunications company by offering the Tattoo 4G Flash at P1245 which runs at a speed of up to 7.2 mbps with free 120 hours valid for 5 days plus free surfing on Facebook for 30 days.

Resisting Limitations, Tattoo subscribers can now enjoy non-stop surfing for 3 days with SUPERSURF for only P120, avoiding the hassle of daily registration to avail of ultimate surfing on the net.

“Tattoo understands the subscribers’ needs and through the Resistance, we have come up with unbeatable offers that would provide subscribers with the best plans and the best surfing experience. That explains why Tattoo is the number one most preferred broadband,” Ronquillo adds.

Super Fun Sinulog photos

Viva Pit Senyor!

Sinulog dancers

Family picnic at Fuente Osmena.

After Cebu‘s long feast honoring Señor Sto. Niño (the Holy Child) and Sinulog weekend, we can now start posting some of the photos we took. The following is a gallery of some pictures of the parade while we were at the Fuente Osmeña Circle.

As most of some three million revelers and devotees focused on the Grand Sinulog Parade, others took their time having their pictures taken at the Super Fun Sinulog with Globe Photo Wall inside Fuente Osmeña.

Some of the wall photos we are posting below are those at Globe’s photo wall. All of them will be at where one can tag 5o friends and win P100 load. The picture with most tags by January 31, 2012 (oh? That’s additional Sinulog fun until the end of the month) will win prizes from Globe Tattoo.

Super Fun Sinulog with Globe’s Gerald Anderson

Gerald Anderson is partly hidden in the middle.

“Artista lagi (Yup. an actress),” somebody said after hearing some loud screaming from the thick crowd in and out of the Fuente Osmeña Circle in Cebu City and a float bearing the actress-comedian Giselle Sanchez in a  showed around the bend in a sexy white get-up. Then louder screaming reverberated through the crowd further on. Another float was coming.

It was nearly 4 pm. The grand Sinulog parade began at around 8 am. It would take a few hours more for it to end before the real Sinulog fun began — whole night parties and discos, the overnight tagay, and

The screaming went louder as teenagers around the plaza began moving towards the float. Intrigued, we followed the crowd movement and soon saw the cause of the commotion.

A young mestizo in white shirt climbed atop a higher platform of the float and pointed to a large Globe Telecom tarp wrapped around a portion of the building across him. The tarp had a huge picture of Gerald Anderson and Sarah Geronimo. Oh! That mestizo was Gerald Anderson himself. And the screaming became louder as the float approached.

We soon were told that it was the ABS-CBN float with other network stars Vice Ganda, Jason Gainza, Melai Canteveros, Ryan Bang, and Pooh. Well, the stars on that float could have been more but these are the ones we recognized from the photos.

But it was Gerald who wowed the crowd making the Sinulog at our corner of Cebu City super fun.

Idol si ‘Sinulog idol’

Ronna Jenn Lofranco

WE avoided the thick crowd and the rains last January 12, 2012. Thus, we missed the Sinulog Idol 2012 finals. Fortunately, thanks to Sun.Star Cebu and the Sun.Star Exchange desk, we now have the chance to view the winning performance of Ronna Jenn Lofranco, the Sinulog Idol 2012.

Check this out:

This winning performance of Ronna Jenn Lofranco, a third year student of the University of San Jose Recoletos, bagged her the title ‘Sinulog Idol 2012,’ a trophy, and P15,000 cash prize.

According to Sun.Star Cebu’s report:

“Danielle May Ozaraga, a 14-year-old high school student from Looc, Danao City, was named Sinulog Idol first runner-up, while Mark Vincent Sevilla, 19, of Talisay City, finished second runner-up.

Ozaraga and Sevilla received P10,000 and P7,500, respectively.

The three made it to the finale after surviving a six-day elimination phase. Of the 12 original contestants, six made it to Thursday’s grand finals.

The six finalists, in the first round of Thursday night’s competition, performed songs that each of them finds special. Three, however, were eliminated and the remaining top three – Lofranco, Ozaraga and Sevilla – competed for the final category dubbed “Time of My Life”, which highlights songs that gave the finalists inspiration.

One of the six grand finalists, JemKeziah Keren Felicilda, 16, of Mandaue City, won the Sinulog Idol 2012 Texter’s Choice award after garnering 4,560 votes. The special award was given by Globe Telecom.

Judging the performances Thursday were Jay Unchuan, vocal coach and branch manager of the Center for Pop-Cebu; Apple Abarquez, a Pinoy Dream Academy scholar; Mark Ryan Borinaga, a Cebu journalist.”

According to Cleofe C. Albiso, Central Visayas trade marketing manager of Globe Telecom, TM has been supporting the Sinulog Idol Search for three years now in partnership with the Cebu City Government, the Sinulog Foundation Inc., Center for Pop Music Philippines, and Soundtraxx Production Studio.

The search involved seven consecutive nights of rigorous elimination for the most versatile singer. The finalists were made to perform in different genre per night from Boradway, pop, Original Pilipino Music (OPM), Visayan hits, and inspirational selections.

Those who joined the grand finals will be trained by Cebu Center for Pop Music Philippines and ultimate vocal coach of the province – Jay Unchuan.

Albiso said:

True to Touch Mobile’s thrust of engaging the Cebuano consumers via the Sinulog 2012 Celebration and providing them with additional benefits in the form of value for money tariff like the AstigCombo 10 where a subscriber can avail of 50 sms to All Networks plus 10 minutes of calls to Globe and TM.  This year’s support is highlighted by the provision of the text voting facility and merch collaterals support, which were mounted in the different barangays and schools represented by the finalists.”
